A couple of weeks ago, I was shopping at Macy's in my local mall.  I happened to pass a skincare counter and fell in LOVE, LOVE, LOVE with the "Sonic Brush"

I found out that the cost of this brush was $139.00 ON SALE.  I listened to the saleswoman explain all of the benefits that this brush has to offer. This brush is supposed to:

• Gets your face 6x cleaner than a washcloth.


• Provide gentle exfoliation to the skin, which removes dead skin cells and allows skin to appear brighter.  


• Provide a reduction of fine lines,  wrinkles and pores.


• Minimize acne breakouts.


• Improve skin tone.

I must admit that I was truly impressed with this product. It took everything within me to keep myself from pulling out my credit card and making a much needed spontaneous purchase.   However in a rare moment of composure; which I rarely have, I decided that I would wait.

So on the ride home, I was thinking that the Sonic brush looks like an oversized electric toothbrush. I began to wonder if a toothbrush could do the same job. 

I wasted no time in finding out.  As soon as I got home, I pulled out my laptop and began to do some research in order to determine if a toothbrush would work. 

I was extremely pleased with what I found.  So pleased that I went to purchase my electric toothbrush the very next day!
I got my electric toothbrush on sale, manufactured by a popular name brand company which I will not disclose. (They're not paying me to advertise) Besides any electric toothbrush will work.  I paid only $6.00 for the toothbrush. 

Here is what you will need:

♦ An electric toothbrush

♦ A skin cleanser of your choice

♦ A skin exfoliator of your choice

♦ Skin toner of your choice

♦ Toothpaste to brush your teeth afterward (hahahaha Just kidding)

First you want to wash your face with your skin cleanser and pat dry. Then lightly smooth on the exfoliator.  Next, turn on your toothbrush and apply to your face in large circular motions. Make certain to get around the nose area and don't forget to brush your neck : )

The next step would be to rinse your face, pat dry and apply toner by using a cotton applicator pad/ball.  

Don't forget your moisturizer; and Viola!
Twice a week is what I would recommend.  Here's to clear happy skin! :-)

 

Tamanu Oil ~ Worth It's "Wait" In Gold

Have you ever heard of Tamanu oil?

Well, I admit that I was not familiar with it until about 2 weeks ago.  I was reading a book on skincare secrets; and in the book, the author mentioned this oil.

The author said that this oil was used to prevent and repair wrinkles as well as acne scars.  That was all I needed to read. I went online and ordered my oil immediately.  After receiving the oil in the mail. I realized that I did not have all of the inside details on the oil.  I knew the oil was extremely beneficial but it was also slightly on the pricey side. I wanted to make certain that I was well versed in being able to utilize this product to the full extent that I could. 

I began to research Tamanu oil and I was beyond impressed with this all natural product; I was astounded! 

After researching this oil and educating myself on this throughout the day, I am so excited to share with you what I have learned...and even though it is well past midnight, I am up late writing about this oil!  First, I would like to provide you with a little background on just how this wonderful oil was came about.  

Tamanu oil; also referred to sacred oil because it is considered one of nature's sacred gifts of nature, can be and should be used to combat any negative skin issue that you or anyone else may be suffering or ailing from.

 

Tamanu oil is derived from countries within the Pacific Islands such as Tahiti.  Tahiti and Vanuatu are two of the few countries that produce this oil along with a handful of others.  The countries' natives take pride in the oil that is produced in their climate and use it fully in the magnitude to which it is to be employed.  This oil is no stranger to the Polynesian women who continue to take full advantage of it as they have been for years.  Their youthful appearances refuse to give in to the full affect of aging.  There's no room for acne nor age spots on their nearly flawless skin.  

Tamanu oil comes from a fruit tree; when cracked open, the fruits have nuts inside and are dried out in the sun for 1-2 months then they are pressed to produce the oil.  Obviously a tedious, yet time consuming process.  Furthermore each nut only generates about 2 drops of oil.  It usually will take a whole tree to make about 5 liters of pure oil.

Now that I have given you a bit of background, I am going to tell you the benefits of using this fabulous oil.  

Tamanu oil has the amazing ability to do what no other oil can do.  It was even used to treat some cases of Leprosy back in the 1920's.  Furthermore it:

• Promotes the formation of new tissue.  What does this mean to you? It means that it speeds healing for wounds and grows healthy skin.     
• Is known to have anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, and anti-neuralgic properties within it's amazing all natural elements; which means that in addition to this oil being well known for preventing wrinkles, acne, rashes, stretch marks, pimples, age spots, boils, sunburn, insect bites, Psoriasis, skin blemishes, eczema, athlete's foot and any other skin disorder that you can name; but it also helps repair and HEAL it.  
• It also contains antigens and antioxidents. This oil has not been proven yet, but it is believed to contain some ingredients that are considered to be helpful as cancer chemopreventive agents.

HINT: While the sun provides all kinds of wonderful elements that shine down on us throughout the day, it is not completely beneficial to our skin at all times.

Yes Sunblock! It will protect your skin from the damaging UVA/UVB rays of the sun; the same rays that cause wrinkles, dark spots, age spots, burns and other negative skin defects. Sunblock is powerful enough to protect your skin from the sun; yet it will not block the many benefits that the "good" sun has to offer such as Vitamin D.
The sun is an excellent source that we need.  Let us reap the benefits of what God's natural light has to offer; but too much of a good thing is not always..."good."

So, make sure you put on your skin that which is much needed to protect it; whether you are young or old, whether you are black, white, yellow or green; make a special trip to your local drug store or department store to pick up, that which is needed for your skin....Oh yeah! Slather on some sunscreen before heading out into the sun. Your skin will thank you for it later.
By the way, don't be fooled by rainy days and winter weather...this stuff should be worn all year long....in every kind of temperature. : )

From Spotted Leopard To Even-Toned Skin

I have battled acne outbreaks almost my entire life. I remember as a teenager, I would break out in pimples quite frequently. The pimples would leave nasty dark blemishes that were nearly impossible to get rid of. Being a teenager is hard enough and back in the 80's when I was a teen, I don't remember there being a whole lot of options to clear up those blemishes.


Nowadays the skin care market is flooded with products that promise to clear up your skin and maintain it's clarity. I have tried many of the products on the market and have various perspectives on the variety of products that crowd the cosmetic shelves.


Ambi: I used to use Ambi some years ago. Ambi is reasonably priced and seemed to bring noticeable results within 6-8 weeks. I did not like using Ambi; it is too moisturizing I have also recently learned that many of Ambi's ingredients are not necessarily good/healthy for us overall.


Within a few months of using Ambi my skin became showered with dark spots again and looked just as if it had before I started using the product.


Since then, I have learned to apply a sunscreen to my face. Something as simple as Spf-30 (but I use Spf-100) will protect your skin from the sun and keep those blemishes from coming back.


Avon's Banishing Cream: I swore by this stuff for the past 5 years. It has worked absolute wonders for my skin and within a very short period of time as well. Avon's Banishing Cream costs approximately $8.00 for a 2.5 oz jar. I would use the banishing cream for about 3 months and my skin would be practically flawless. Phooey on the works of nature against my skin though. For some reason, my skin would consistently break out throughout the year and I would find myself using the cream about 2-3 times annually.


I relied on it to clear my skin up about 6 months ago but just like anything else that breaks........Avon's Banishing cream seemed to be "broken." I mean, it just didn't work any more! I guess my skin became too accustomed to the ingredients : (


Upset and frenzied, I began to have trouble looking at myself in the mirror. I scoured the Internet for a product that would work wonders on my skin. I found out about Clinique's Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector. Expensive is an understatement....costing $50.00 for 1 oz, you would think this stuff would work overnight. It did not. I still have many good things to say about it. It did clear up my skin. In fact, it changed what I looked like as a person because of this. I went through about 4-5 bottles throughout an extended period of time. I was using it for about 4 months and not seeing much of a difference and then all of a sudden after about 4 months, I saw a noticeable difference almost as if it happened overnight. I did a video on this product throughout a 6 week time frame....(AFTER I had been using the product for 4 months). I wish I would have tracked my progress from the very beginning of my skin journey *sigh* but I didn't....nevertheless, you can still see the difference.

Yeah, I admit I am not into the spotted leopard look. I like my skin much better as all one tone. So, the price was hefty but it did work and I am pleased with the outcome. Now, I am working on putting a stop to acne altogether. The equation would look similar to this: Acne=blemishes SO NO acne= NO blemishes. Stay tuned and thank you for reading :-)
